 We love our Jacksonville Birthing community and we are fortunate to have some incredible health-practitioners here in the Duval, St. Johns, and Clay County areas. Every day in our office, expecting parents ask us for referrals to birth providers and there are a lot of practitioners you need to make arrangements with. Pediatrician

Dr. Ali of Advanced Pediatrics: Dr. Ali strongly believes in helping children achieve their highest potential and becoming the best they can be. She also believes in empowering families to advocate for and an active partner in the health of their children. Her original office location is open in Riverside and now, she practices 2 days a week at the Revolution Chiropractic Office on Old St. Augustine Road. We love her practice because she treats the whole child and values sharing education with her patients.

Pediatric Dentistry

We love Dr. Bright and the whole office at Bright Smiles Pediatric Dentistry. They are located close to us in St. Johns at Bartram Springs off Race Track Road. Their office is designed with families in mind, from the bright colors to the state-of-the-art technology, computer games and a specific play area in the waiting room. Each treatment chair and private-room is equipped with an overhead television monitor and headphones so that your child can sit back and relax during their visit. For Tongue tie and lip tie cases, we always recommend that our Jacksonville parents go to Myers Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics. We can write you a referral! They have offices in Middleburg, as well as Jacksonville at Beach & Hodges Blvd.

OB/GYN

Full Circle Women's Care: We can't say enough about Dr. Adams and her staff. Their mission is to: Provide evidence-based care within a structure that balances patient autonomy with safety. They support unmedicated and medicated birth as well as VBAC's. They also welcome and encourage the use of doulas, and provide resources for childbirth education, lactation support, and alternative methods of relief of discomforts of pregnancy.

Birthing Centers

UF Birthing Center: Led by certified nurse midwives, the UF Health Birth Center is a unique addition to the community for mothers who prefer a natural birth experience. The Birth Center differs from the labor and delivery unit by offering a home-like environment for expectant mothers to give birth. It’s the only practice of its kind associated with an academic health center in the region, and is located at the new north campus/hospital. This facility is top of the line! Birth Center of Jacksonville: Birth Center of Jacksonville is a freestanding birth center located in the Riverside area. The midwives at the Birth Center of Jax believe childbirth is a normal healthy process. The midwives provide women and their families with loving care, support, and the knowledge to achieve a safe, peaceful and satisfying natural childbirth experience.

First Coast Midwifery Services: Samantha Crickmore has attended nearly 300 out of hospital births totaling nearly 500 in her career. She is known for her nurturing, personalized and evidence-based care and her light-hearted sense of humor. Jacinda Golden of River City Homebirth is a passionate birth provider whose vision is to partner with women and their families on a personal level and provide safe, empowering midwifery care and support during pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

Doulas

Mumda: You will see Mumda's name come up a few times on this list because of the extensive services and support that they offer to the Jacksonville Birthing Community. They are an invaluable resource to our city that we are definitely grateful for! They have a team of doulas who support local women in all births, including home deliveries, natural birth in a hospital or birth center, VBAC's, planned and unplanned cesarean's and more! Kahla Jurney of Birth & Beyond Doula Services has a heart for service that shows in her work. She is passionate about supporting the moms of Jacksonville through their birth journeys. Leah Dubin is the doula at The Village Mama serving all of Northeast Florida. She is passionate about birth and about helping women to have a positive birth experience, however they envision that to be. She believes in empowering women to trust their inner wisdom and strength. Kelly Googe has a passion for empowering women in pregnancy, birth, and beyond. She has a deep trust in the normal, powerful process of birth. She believes all women can achieve the birth of their dreams whether that is a first time unmedicated birth, a VBAC, or all the the in-between scenarios.   Michelle Baur is a passionate birth educator and advocate. Lactation Specialists

Mumda has a team of doulas and lactation consultants who can help to support you in your breastfeeding journey.Kelly Googe: has a passion for empowering women in pregnancy, birth, and beyond. As a Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC),  she provides support, information, technique resolution, and basic education for lactating moms.  

Prenatal Exercise & Fitness

Annie Tinker of Knocked Up Fitness is a Prenatal and Postnatal Instructor and Core Exercise Specialist, Birth Doula, and Certified Personal Trainer. She offers a wide array of knowledge and training to help Jacksonville moms stay fit during and after pregnancy. Need contact info Ally Jyothi is a yoga instructor who teaches classes at Red Skies Yoga and also offers in-home private sessions for pre-and post-natal moms. Michelle Baur- Prenatal Yoga: is a passionate birth educator and advocate. She has been supporting women in the Jacksonville area since 2004 as a doula, prenatal yoga instructor, and hypnobabies educator. Soluna Yoga Studio in Riverside offers prenatal yoga, available to all stages of pregnancy and all levels of yoga experience. Their class also unites expecting mothers–to relate, communicate needs, while sharing emotions and stories, and gathering like-minded mothers with the intention of establishing a motherhood community. 

Massage Therapists

Mumda massage therapy: Massage stimulates your body to release endorphins and may ease pain and reduce anxiety in the first stage of labor. It may help you to cope with your contractions by making them feel less intense and more manageable. Marjorie offers specialized infant massage sessions at her office in Jacksonville Beach. Kelly Jackson: has been a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) for 21 years. She serves the Jacksonville area at 2 locations; Baymeadows and Jacksonville Beach. Her Jacksonville Practice, Five Points Therapeutic Massage specializes in therapeutic massage.

Birth Classes

Mumda shows up a lot on our list of favorites because they offer so many wonderful services to our local moms. They offer courses in group and also private sessions on childbirth, breastfeeding, and fitness. They are our co-hosts for the prepared birth class at our Revolution Chiropractic Office on the first Thursday of each month. Danae Bunso is the doula at Jacksonville Birth Services. She teaches mindful birthing classes. Her mission is to educate, support, and encourage women to know they have options along the way in making their BIRTH-day an amazing experience that they will remember for a lifetime.
